Data Science Convergence Research Center
The Data Science Convergence Research Center began as a statistical consulting office affiliated with the Department of Statistics, established in 1986. In 2009, it was officially approved as a statistical research institute under the College of Natural Sciences, and since then, it has conducted numerous research projects while providing various statistical consulting services. In 2018, the health big data infrastructure was established through an MOU with the Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service, and educational and practical projects were carried out in collaboration with external partner organizations. The Data Science Convergence Research Center was officially launched that same year, and has since supported data-driven rational decision-making through active collaboration with local communities, industry, academia, hospitals, and government agencies. This research institute supports the infrastructure of 20 prominent finance, bio, medicine, and business professionals such as KT (advisor Hong-Jae Lee) and Seoul National University (Honorary Professor Jong-Woo Jeon), and is receiving research·educational projects from government agencies to contribute to the training of future generations and social contribution. The research institute is planning research·education·industry-university cooperation in wider range of fields as it was reorganized affiliated to the College of Information Science in 2022, and is currently focusing on collaborative research projects including the “Lifelog Big Data Platform Construction Project” and “Support Project for Digital Therapeutics Development.”
