The Institute of Audiology & Speech Pathology has been established in March 2001 to contribute to the welfare of the hearing and speech impaired while conducting research in audiology and speech pathology fields for the disabled. The institute is especially endeavoring for supplement training for hearing and speech disorder related professionals and rehabilitation training for the hearing and speech impaired.

The scientific and systematized movement of exercise is being emphasized as the interest on health is increasing in the modern society. The Institute of Physical Education & Sports is striving to enhance the health of students, local citizens, and athletes by preparing effective and specialized exercise programs based on scientific evidence. Seminars and lectures are also held to build specialized knowledge on physical education.

Institute of Energy & Environment

Depletion of fossil fuels including oil and coal and natural resources due to industrial development is approaching which is a serious crisis for mankind. Also, pollutants such as greenhouse gases that have been emitted until now are becoming a great threat to the survival of all living things on Earth including mankind. The Institute of Energy & Environment conducts research and development on sustainable development models by utilizing new and renewable energy sources—such as solar and bioenergy—and through the recycling of resources like phosphorus and nitrogen. The institute is also performing R&D on convergence technologies in clean water resource, soil, air-environment protection, and waste management fields. The institute is also endeavoring to develop and supply energy· environment policies and technologies through joint industrial-university research with local companies and local governments in energy and environment fields.

Multidisciplinary Genome Institute

The Multidisciplinary Genome Institute is a research institute where interdisciplinary joint research throughout all aspects of life phenomena based on the genetic information of organisms are covered. The institute aims to obtain basic source technologies and advanced information analysis technologies for genome research, and contribute to the development of high-value life resources through collaborative research with medical organizations and industries.
