The Institute for International Affairs seeks development of international politics with Korean perspective by academically researching international issues at various analytic levels and agendas, in which the institute aims to obtain academic contributions to establish international political status of Korea and set a long-term direction for foreign policies. The institute pursues theoretical, historical, and empirical analyses on various issues regarding international relations according to the change of the world order in the 21st century including the post-Cold War, globalization, and informatization.

Institute of Legal Studies
The Institute of Legal Studies established on March 1, 1990 as an affiliated institution of Hallym University, contributes to the advancement of Korea’s legal culture by exploring both domestic and international legal theories and practices. Through this, it aims to harmonize legal theory and practical issues in a balanced and integrated way. The institute regularly presents research results through the Law Forum.

Social Welfare Research Institute
The Social Welfare Research Institute has been established to solidify the supremacy of social welfare studies at Hallym University by performing social welfare major related academic gathering and research projects. The institute provides and operates retraining programs for social welfare experts in addition to academic activities, and is actively participating in the implementation of social welfare policies through advisory activities in the social welfare field.

Various opinions are being expressed on various social phenomena in the modern society, and accurate surveying of public opinions is one of most basic activities for policy direction and decision-making processes. The Institute for Social Research performs various research in the social survey field preparing for the local decentralization era by conducting various surveys and studies focusing on the Gangwon area.

Hallym Institute for Applied Psychology
The Hallym for Applied Psychology performs research in the applied psychology field such as clinical/counseling psychology, learning psychology, industrial and organizational psychology, criminal psychology, etc. The institute aims to improve quality of life of local residents based on the research results in each field, while providing opportunities for practice and training of research and psychological counseling and advisory activities in order to train enrolled students into applied psychology professionals.

The Hallym Institute for Economic Research aims to enhance the understanding of economics by researching and analyzing the overall field of economics. The institute opens economic seminars and publishes a working paper series for active academic exchange with various economists, and the institute also aims to contribute to the economic education of economics major students.
