2018년 설립 이래로 글로벌학부가 운영하고 있는 한림 한국학프로그램(Hallym Korean Studies Program, HKSP)는 한국어, 한국 역사, 문화, 사회, 경제, 정치·외교 등 전반에 대한 다양한 교과를 통하여 재학생은 물론 해외 교환학생들의 한국에 관심을 학술적이고 실용적인 접근을 통하여 충족하는 데에 초점을 맞추고 있습니다.

한국학프로그램의 모든 교과과정은 한국인 교수진과 오랜 기간 한국에서 생활하고 일해 온 외국인 교수진이 100% 영어로 진행합니다.

외국인 교수진은 한국 생활에 대한 독특한 관점과 유용한 통찰력을 제공함으로써 외국인 학생들의 한국에 대한 이해를 증진하고 있습니다. 이러한 "문화적 다리"는 한국 생활을 더욱 즐겁게 경험하도록 도움을 주고 있습니다.

매학기 한국어를 포함한 11개 교과목을 개설함으로써 외국인 학생과 재학생 모두 복수전공 학위를 취득할 수 있도록 지원하고 있습니다.

이러한 한국학프로그램의 성공적인 성과를 바탕으로 글로벌학부는 향후 유럽한국학회(Association for Korean Studies in Europe, AKSE)에 참여함으로써 그 외연을 확대하고, 더 많은 분야에 대한 한국학 교과목과 관련 학술행사 등을 기획하여 한국학 교육과 연구의 핵심적인 역할을 수행하고자 노력하고 있습니다.

Since its establishment in 2018, the Hallym Korean Studies Program (HKSP), operated by the School of Global Studies, focuses on satisfying the interest of current students and foreign exchange students through an academic and practical approach by offering various courses on Korean language, Korean history, culture, society, economy, politics, diplomacy, and so forth.

All courses in the HKSP are taught 100% in English by Korean professors and foreign professors.

With their substantial experiences in Korea, foreign professors provide unique perspectives and useful insights on Korean life, thereby enhancing foreign students’ understanding of Korea. This “cultural bridge” helps them experience life in Korea more enjoyably. By offering 11 courses including Korean language every semester, we support both foreign and current students to obtain a double major degree.

Based on the successful performance of the HKSP, the School of Global Studies is striving to expand its scope by participating in the Association for Korean Studies in Europe (AKSE) and to play a key role in Korean studies education and research through a strategic plan to create new courses and design academic events in more fields in Korean Studies.
